Our Interior Commercial Painting Process
We have developed a recipe for success based on the best modern painting techniques and using innovative modern tools to get the job done quickly without skimping on quality.
Planning

This is perhaps the most crucial stage (apart from the interior painting itself), especially for offices, cafes and other commercial sites in Brisbane. We understand you have a business to run, and we don’t want to cause any undue disruption. Surepaint will work with you to arrange a plan that’s minimally intrusive and delivers fantastic results.

Surepaint will send some of our commercial painters out to inspect the building and provide a detailed quote, as well as raise any issues like damaged surfaces that need to be repaired and site access requirements.

Paint Selection

We use premium quality paints and have multiple finishes for you to choose from. If you’re stuck on what will look good in your commercial space, we can provide expert guidance to help you visualise your finished room with a free consultation.

How is Interior Commercial Painting Done?
The actual interior painting process will work slightly differently depending on what type of surface we’re painting and what kind of finish you’re looking for.

Most interior painting includes walls and ceilings, and here’s how we do it:

Any gaps, nail holes or scratches are filled in
Stains that can’t be removed will be sealed in and painted over
We cover floors and other surfaces you don’t’ want painted
We apply a spot prime to the surfaces we’re going to paint
For bathrooms and wet areas, we apply an anti-mould solution
The first coat of paint (usually interior acrylic) goes down
We apply a second coat for a strong, smooth even colour
Final touches
Tidy up and pack down
The process for trims and other surfaces getting coated with an enamel paint looks a bit different:
We sand the area and fill in scratches, dents and holes
Wall surfaces you don’t want to get painted are taped off
The surface gets an oil-based primer
We apply the first coat of water-based enamel
Once dry, the second coat of paint is applied
Clean up and pack down
Surepaint- Painting Services Brisbane
We sand the area to be painted to provide better adhesive properties for the paint

Interior Commercial Painting FAQ’s
The exact length of time will depend on the size and number of interior surfaces you want painted, plus site access and daily working hours. In most cases we can get it done in 1 to 3 weeks.
We service commercial buildings across the whole of the Greater Brisbane region. Contact us today if you’re unsure and want to know if we can provide interior commercial painting services in your area.
We can paint all manner of interior spaces and surfaces, from commercial kitchens to hospitals, schools, shopping centres, factory floors to warehouses and office spaces.
Regular acrylic paint can have a noxious smell that lingers for hours, and this can affect people with sensitivities and health conditions such as asthma. If you’re getting a commercial space fitted out when taking over a new lease, we can get the work done before customers arrive onsite. Alternatively, we can do some after-hours painting so that by the next day’s regular operations, the smell will have subsided. Depending on your building’s layout and how it is used, it’s possible we can work during daily opening hours without causing any issues.

If you are concerned about fumes, we can use low VOC coating paint. This is a specialised interior paint that produces almost no noxious fumes and dries quickly, which makes it perfect for after-hours painting or work done on-site during daily operations.

As a Brisbane-based painting company, we primarily use Haymes, an Australian-made and owned brand that produces some of the highest quality paints and finishes. Their paints are available in a range of colours, and can be tinted with other brands like Dulux to provide the exact colour you’re after.
We work hard to protect the site and leave no mess. In the rare case of an accident, we’ll be sure to fix it up at no additional cost. Should there be any damage at all, Surepaint has an extensive business insurance policy to cover any liabilities.
The exact amount of time your new coat of paint will last for depends on how the surface is used, its colour and whether it gets any harsh afternoon sun. High traffic areas like hallways or reception areas might need a touch-up or regular cleaning every 3-5 years to prolong the health of the paint. Other surfaces will generally last up to 10 years before they start fading.
